This project features a compact work desk designed for small home offices and study areas. The desk plans include an open shelving tower on the right, a single drawer on the left, and two cubbies under the top for quick-access storage. The clean, asymmetrical layout works as a computer desk or writing station while keeping footprints modest. Proposed overall size is in the popular small-office range, about 47 x 20 x 30 in (1200 x 500 x 760 mm), and can be adjusted. The design is optimized for laminated particle board with edge banding for a uniform, contemporary look—ideal for DIY desk plans and universal woodworking blueprints.

Construction Features

The construction uses 16 mm (approx. 5/8 in) laminated particle board for the top, gables, shelves, and drawer parts, plus 3 mm (1/8 in) fiberboard for shelf backs or drawer bottom. The right side forms a vertical storage column; the left gable supports the top and houses a drawer. Recommended joinery: confirmat screws or cam-and-dowel fasteners with pre-drilling. Edge banding is applied on visible faces. Suggested cable grommets may be added to the top or cubbies. Project metrics: utilization factor 22.72%, total edge banding length 16.38 m (53.7 ft), and total cut length 48.78 m (160.1 ft).

Materials and Hardware

Customization Options
