Description by Flatma:

This project features a modern computer desk design with a light wood-grain worktop and crisp white side panels. Clean lines and two integrated drawers make it practical for a home office or study while keeping a minimal profile. The computer desk plans emphasize efficient storage, cable management, and a sturdy construction suitable for everyday use. Desk blueprints outline a compact footprint that fits apartments and dedicated workspaces alike, and the desk woodworking plans can be adjusted to match different equipment, from laptops to dual-monitor setups. After detailed review, the blueprints are available for download.

Construction Features

The typical overall size targets everyday ergonomics: about 47.25 in (1200 mm) wide, 23.6 in (600 mm) deep, and 29.5 in (750 mm) high. Panels are commonly 0.75 in (19 mm) MDF or particle board with laminate or veneer; drawer bottoms use 0.25 in (6 mm) plywood. A modesty/back panel increases racking resistance, while stretchers under the top add rigidity. Full-extension slides at 15.75 in (400 mm) provide access to both drawers. Recommended knee clearance is approximately 25.0 in (635 mm) high. A cable grommet hole at 2.375 in (60 mm) can be positioned at the rear corner of the top. Edge banding at 0.04 in (1 mm) protects exposed edges and visually matches the light wood and white finishes.

Materials and Hardware

- Top: 0.75 in (19 mm) laminated MDF/particle board or veneered plywood - Side panels and front apron: 0.75 in (19 mm) - Modesty/back panel: 0.5 in (12 mm) to 0.75 in (19 mm) - Drawer boxes: 0.5 in (12 mm) plywood; bottoms 0.25 in (6 mm) plywood - Drawer slides: full-extension, 15.75 in (400 mm) - Handles/knobs, edge banding 0.04 in (1 mm) - Wood screws (#8 x 1.25 in (32 mm)), dowels 0.375 in (10 mm), optional cam bolts/connectors, mounting hardware

Customization Options

The DIY desk project can be adapted in width from about 39–59 in (1000–1500 mm) and depth from 19.7–27.6 in (500–700 mm). Options include left/right drawer orientation, an added keyboard tray, alternate finishes (oak, maple, birch), and different handle styles. Element dimensions can be adjusted to individual requirements, and after review the desk blueprints are available for download.
